Our Team
Mrs. Suzanne Fulton (she/her)
Suzanne Fulton began studying voice nearly 40 years ago, growing up as a soloist in festivals and concerts and singing in school and community choirs in Kamloops, BC. Her passion for music led her to UBC, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance. This training led to solo performances in Canada and Europe, including Le Nozze di Figaro (Cherubino), Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and Handel’s Messiah.
Suzanne worked as a private voice teacher before returning to UBC to complete a Bachelor of Education and begin her career with West Vancouver Schools. She taught for many years at Gleneagles Elementary and now leads the choral program at West Vancouver Secondary School and the Illuminate Choral Program (formerly the District Honour Choir). She later completed a Master’s in Music Education at UBC.
Over the years, Suzanne’s choirs have earned gold standings at festivals, toured Europe, performed at the opening ceremonies of the Paralympic Games, and worked with world-class clinicians. Suzanne is passionate about music education and believes strongly that everyone has a voice, and that music is a powerful vehicle for connection and belonging.
Katy Cadman (she/her)
Katy Cadman has been passionate about singing and choir since she was a kid. She was fortunate enough to be involved in choirs both in and out of school and after graduating, sang professionally for years. She then followed her passion for teaching and became a high school English and Choir teacher. She currently sings with a cappella group, Sweet Scarlet and loves directing MomChoir. The MomChoir community and the joy of rehearsals is the highlight of Katy’s week.

She has long appreciated the power of music education in enriching both the mind and the heart. Alongside her studies at UBC, Erin supports North Shore Choir rehearsals musically and offers organizational support. Through providing weekly rehearsal recaps and scheduling information on Google Classroom, she works to create accessibility and open communication for all North Shore Choir singers. She has always deeply valued the community aspect of choir, and couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of a program that unites so many diverse voices, offering space for meaningful connection, laughter, and shared growth.
Mr. Adam Mountstevens
Adam is a versatile musician whose journey has spanned multiple roles, from touring guitarist to choir designer and assistant manager. With a passion for music that has been a constant throughout his life, he spent his young adulthood playing guitar and singing in various punk and metal bands, including Fighting For Ithaca. The band toured extensively across Canada and released music under the renowned 604 Records label.
Over time, Adam’s path led him to North Shore Choirs, where he began as a designer, creating logos and websites for the youth-focused KidChoir. Little did he know, he would find a community that resonated with his values. His talents and love for music soon extended to supporting the choir on a more hands-on level, as he began playing guitar during performances and helping Suzanne in whatever was needed.
In addition to his instrumental work, Adam has taken on the role of assistant manager, helping to ensure the smooth running of the choir’s activities. His belief in the importance of these choirs for the community of singers has been a driving force behind his dedication. He values the sense of belonging and creative expression that North Shore Choirs offer, and his contributions reflect his commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive musical environment for all involved.
